SLS1000 Opening for 22"
« on: August 21, 2019, 04:59:11 AM »
I am pretty sure this has been asked long ago but I am having a difficult time opening 22" jackets.  The 1000 we have is our backup to our SLS2000 and has not been ran very much.  Our presses produce a 1/2" lap that is pretty square.  Years ago at my old newspaper the narrowest ran was 24" which was pretty easy to transition to from the old days of 27" but that was over 10 years ago.  If any one can provide pictures of their setup and any additional information I would greatly appreciate it.  I have a few 29" tab jobs that I have tested and of course with a wider web the opening is fine.

Thanks
Brion

The pockets I believe are cut down measuring 11.5" at the hinge.  The vacuum ports on the electric side have been moved in via an attachment that is bolted to where the old port was on the solid wall.  These attachments do not have very much meat on the upper part creating an issue with the gripper coming in to contact with the low side of the lap and keeping the jacket closed about 20% of the time.  If I raise the gripper I run in to the issue of the gripper being too high and not contacting the attachment.  Because of this my main problem with with cam on the electric side, brush, cam timing and what grippers others are using.
