Tampa Bay Times to print Tampa Tribune
The Tampa Bay (Florida) Times inked a deal with Tampa Media Group to print the Tampa (Florida) Tribune for the next five years. The Tribune’s sister publications, including Centro, Highlands Today and The Suncoast News as well as its commercial printing partners; the New York Post and the MacDill Thunderbolt are also part of the deal.
Starting this month, the Times will begin its transition toward printing all editions and weekly sections of the Tribune, its affiliate publications—including Centro, Highlands Today, and The Suncoast News—and its commercial printing partners, the New York Post and the MacDill Thunderbolt, a weekly newspaper devoted to news about MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa.
“We are excited for this opportunity in working with the Tampa Bay Times on the production side of our business,” said Brian Burns, publisher of the Tribune. “Like many other markets, newspapers are combining services, such as production, to create efficiencies and savings that otherwise would be very tough to find.”
The Tampa Bay Times also prints the USA Today for the Tampa Bay area. The Times inked a three-year contract with Gannett’s flagship title in April 2014. The Times has been expanding its commercial printing business over the past few years and recently added USA Today to its portfolio.
