GateHouse acquires Pennsylvania media company
GateHouse Media acquired Journal Multimedia from co-owners David A. Schankweiler and Lawrence M. Kluger. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Journal Multimedia includes Harrisburg, Pennsylvania media properties, the Central Penn Business Journal, Central Penn Parent in Harrisburg, Best Companies Group and FGV media as well as Lehigh Valley Buisness, NJBIZ and Pet Age magazine.

Hearst expands Connecticut offerings
Hearst Connecticut Media Group acquired two local papers, the Norwalk Hour and the Wilton Villager and their digital assets from The Hour Publishing Company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The two new papers bring the total of Fairfield County offerings to five daily and six weekly newspapers and a total of 14 websites.
Group Publisher and President of Hearst Connecticut Media Group, Paul Barbetta will oversee the business and news operations for the new properties.
“Bringing The Hour and the Wilton Villager into our Connecticut group of media assets is a natural fit,” said Mark Aldam, president of Hearst Newspapers. “We intend to extend Hearst’s venerable news brand across Fairfield County by deepening coverage of the Norwalk and Wilton communities while offering business customers a more diversified set of media solutions.”
