BH Media buys Virginia daily

BH Media Group acquired The Free Lance-Star in Fredericksburg, Virginia from Sandton Capital and Paint Innovators were also included in the transaction.

The Free Lance-Star is a daily newspaper serving Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George, Caroline, Orange, Culpeper, Westmoreland, Fauquier and Louisa with a circulation of 31,700. Meantime, Print Innovators is a regional/national commercial printing operation that prints The Free Lance-Star and a number of other regional publications.

Omaha-based BH media Group owns 32 daily and weekly newspapers in Nebraska, Iowa, Texas, Oklahoma, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida and New Jersey.

Sandton Capital Partners was represented by Dirks, Van Essen & Murray. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
